Chelsea Boots

As the temperatures started to drop, my hunt for a good pair of comfortable Chelsea boots began. Generally speaking, I am more inclined towards leather boots because they are easier to take care of than suede, but suede looks more luxe

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you may have seen that I had the opportunity to attend a private shopping party to check out the new Nordstrom at Yorkdale! I mean any party that involves shopping is definitely a good one, am I right?

The beauty of a Chelsea boot is its simplicity; minimized shape and slip on characteristic that makes it easy to wear time and again. A constant issue I have with boots is finding the right fit! Sizing and shape varies from brand to brand, hence why it’s important to try on a few (maybe more) pairs to see what works best for you.

Tip: You want a snug fit, but not too snug that it ends up pinching your toes. (Ouch! I’ve been there one too many times).

Nordstrom Yorkdale’s shoe collection is what shoe dreams are made of. As I stepped into the shoe section, a pair of grey suede Chelsea boots caught my eye and I knew after trying them on that this was the perfect pair. Not only were the boots comfortable to wear but the grey suede in contrast to white and black detailing made me fall in love with suede again.

NEWSFLASH: You can wear leather boots in far more weather conditions than suede. Suede boots require more maintenance but if you’re smart in wearing them in the right weather conditions, you have nothing to worry about. I definitely recommend having a solid brush, cleaner and protector to keep these bad boys in shape!

My Outfit:

This getup is perfect for those days you don’t want to go that extra mile to dress up; being both stylish and comfortable. A classic pair of ripped denim is my go-to. I paired my black ripped denims with a long-line white t-shirt and a navy blue bomber jacket. To round off the look, I slipped on a pair of my new suede grey Chelsea boots. You can never go wrong with a classic navy blue and grey combination.

Whether you’re looking to dress up with a pair of trousers and a shirt or dress down with distressed denim and a t-shirt, Chelsea boots are perfect for any occasion.=
